Even before the stand was completed, it was attracting attention. The interview below was conducted on Sunday (7/10/07), long before we had started presenting the SpaceBUG (or even had time to dress up ;)).
MIPCOM DAILY NEWS INEOMEDIA COO Mario Maracic is at MIPCOM with his company's new invention - the SpaceBUG. Developed in Croatia and marketed out in the UK, he claims it can be used to increase TV ratings, boost sales and stop people zapping ads. The SpaceBUG is small Tamagotchi-style unit which is distributed free at retail point-of-sale (for example in a cereal packet). Purchasers attach it to their TV screen to coincide with a particular TV show. At a given time some units pick up signals from TV and are activated. Viewers can then phone in to try and win cash prizes. Pictured in Cannes are Mario Maracic and distribution partner Axel Derendorf of Munich-based ad32. |
